How I Met Your Mother




How I Met Your Mother is a 10 season sitcom comedy show. The series follows the adventures of Ted Mosby, narrating the story of how he met the mother of his children. The story goes into a flashback and starts in 2005 with a 27-year-old Ted Mosby living in New York City and working as an architect. The story deals primarily with his best friends, who are the long-lasting couple Marshall Erickson and Lily Aldrin; the eccentric, womanising -playboy Barney Stinson ; and news reporter Robin Scherbatsky. The lives of all characters are entwined in each others. The series explores many storylines, including a "will they or won't they" relationship between Robin and each of the two single male friends, Marshall and Lily's relationship, and the ups and downs of the characters' careers.

Each episode starts with Ted Mosby in the present with his children, recalling stories from the past and continues into a flashback. Each episode lasts about 20 minutes and consists of a new funny adventure/story. The tv show does portray some mature themes involving sex and drugs, so I don’t recommend this show for a young audience. However for a audience of age 16+, How I Met Your Mother would be the perfect binge show. There are 10 whole seasons to cover so there are an abundance of episodes  to choose from. For those of you who have seen the show ‘Friends’, this show really emulates the atmosphere shown in the old show in a little bit more of a modern 2000s manner. However i did spend many years following the show and was quite disappointment with how they wrapped up the show. We are told who the mother is but the ending did not satisfy the 10 season lead up. None the less the show is extremely entertaining so if you’re looking for a good show with a lot of cheeky laughs I recommend How I Met Your Mother.

The IT Crowd The IT Crowd is a simple, yet hilarious British Comedy show based around the semi-disastrous lives of two antisocial IT professionals, Maurice Moss (played by Richard Ayoade) and Roy Trenneman (played by Chris O’Dowd). Throughout each series the pair provide IT support for their company, Reynhold Industries under the watchful eye of their new department supervisor Jen Barber (played by Katherine Parkinson), who does not understand technology in the slightest. Hey guys! It's Sushmi here again, with yet another sitcom, The Office (US version). This show is one that I've recently started watching and it's a really good show to pass time and procrastinate, with short 20-25 minute episodes that are extremely funny. As the title suggests the show revolves around an office, a branch of a paper company in Scranton, America called 'Dunder Mifflin'. It shows the everyday lives of the staff of this company under the management of their eccentric manager, Michael Scott, played by Steve Carell, a very talented actor who has starred in many successful movies, eg. Despicable Me Series, Get Smart. Even though the staff are working a boring everyday sales role, the interactions within each character is what makes the show so good.
