Daredevil. Hmm.. Where should I start? The plot I guess. Daredevil follows the story of Matt Murdock, a lawyer by day, vigilante crime fighter by night who has to fight The Russian Mob, Chinese Trafficking System, Japanese gang and Wilson Fisk a.k.a The Kingpin (Yeah, Matt's a busy man. I wonder when he gets the time to sleep). The show begins with an accident showing what caused Matt's blindness, which I feel is a great way to start since knowing the background of the protagonist before showing the present events helps you understand the character better and there are some flashbacks shown in between which help you get deeper into the story of the character. So yeah, a good start, check.
Coming back to the plot, rather than limiting him, the blindness gave Matt superhuman senses (There's the 'superhero' touch) which he uses to deliver justice, not only as a lawyer but also a vigilante, fighting crime in the shadows of Hell's Kitchen(I love this name). It feels weird how it's a Marvel show but doesn't have any of the supernatural villains, but I'd say it's a good change from the plethora of Avengers movies made in the last decade. A good plot that's executed well, check.
Moving on to the characters, I'd say most of them, if not all, fit their role well. Their body language, way of talking, clothing, matches what the character is portraying. Like a Russian 'gang/mob leader' has a Russian accent, dresses like a real mobster(not some street punk) and has the angry look on his face. Similarly, the 'main villan', Mr. Fisk as they call him in the show, is a big bald guy who's always dressed in a suit, perfectly fitting the role of a Boss with a short temper, always hot on his heels. A good cast that fits the role, check.
Overall, I'd say it's a good change from overdose of shooting aliens coming down from the sky that Marvel is usually known for. After all, it's a TV show, so they have to keep you hooked for more than just 2hrs. Season 3 comes out next year, so you've got quite a lot of time to watch the 26 episodes that the show has right now.
