Prison Break

This has to be the most suggested TV Show so far and thanks to the assignment I finally got to watch it. I can describe it one word, "Genius". The whole story lies in the title itself. They're trying to break out of a prison. But it's not your same old Plan, Execute and Escape story. I'd prefer not to spoil the plot but it's how well the writers have written everything that make the show as amazing as it is.

Every character, even the sidekick of an influential prisoner has a purpose, a reason for why they are there. Maybe it's the death of the sidekick that affects the story or maybe he did something, every character's action change the story and simultaneously keep it on track. None of the characters feel useless or purposeless and if you've ever watched a show that involves a lot of people/characters, a bad cast is all it takes to ruin the show. Luckily, Prison Break handles that quite well.

Moving on the 'Genius' plot. One of the (many) things that sets the show apart from other Prison oriented movies or TV Shows is the fact that the whole plan is written on the body of the protagonist, in case you couldn't guess it, he's got the whole map of the prison tattooed on his body. Sounds kinda weird but that's because he was the structural engineer for the prison, so he knows all the ins and outs, which might seem to have made everything easier but by the time you reach Episode 5 or 6 of the first season, you'll realize that it takes more than just a good plan to escape a prison. You need people, people you can trust, people who won't give away your secrets and knowing that it's a prison, (Almost) everybody's a criminal so finding a trustable person is not easy.

The plot and characters alone should be enough to justify my reason for calling this show genius because I'd be spoiling the show if I get into how they plan and do things.

A couple of episodes may make you feel like they're dragging the story but that's the only bad thing I can say about the show as the story picks up the pace again after those 2 or 3 kinda boring episodes.

The show recently got its 5th Season, 8 Years after the 4th one so maybe there's another one coming? Who knows. All I know is that Prison Break lived up to all the hype that my friends had created when they suggested me the show.
