Mr. Robot

Image
Continuing on my path looking for more tech oriented TV shows I recently stumbled upon Mr. Robot. Being the geek I am, I was sold after watching the first episode. I won't be going into the story because I believe other sites have explained it better but I will be giving my opinion on what I loved about the show and what I didn't. Image Source A little disclaimer before I go in deeper: The show is a little crazy and it only gets crazier as the story progresses, so, watch out. Anyways, getting to the good stuff, I can go so far as to say that this show has depicted the concept of 'Hacking' better than any other Movie or TV Show I've watched till date because they use real technical terms, like 'Pentesting' rather than saying 'Hacking WiFi' or 'Rootkit' and more. Things don't get hacked with the click of a button, they have to plan everything, take help of other 'Hacking groups', run scripts, type long pieces of code, and ac...

The IT Crowd

Image
The IT Crowd The IT Crowd is a simple, yet hilarious British Comedy show based around the semi-disastrous lives of two antisocial IT professionals, Maurice Moss (played by Richard Ayoade) and Roy Trenneman (played by Chris O’Dowd). Throughout each series the pair provide IT support for their company, Reynhold Industries under the watchful eye of their new department supervisor Jen Barber (played by Katherine Parkinson), who does not understand technology in the slightest. Together the trio end up getting themselves into ridiculous situations that defy even the most basic form of common sense. Many such situations getting them into trouble with their somewhat unusual boss Denholm Reynholm (played by Christopher Morris) and later their even stranger boss Douglas Reyholm (played by Matt Berry) the son of Denholm. The IT Crowd aired for a total of 8 year between 2006 to 2013, with the show boasting a total of 5 seasons and 25 episodes with each episode running for an average t...

Modern Family

Image
What’s a Modern TV Show blog without Modern Family! Modern family is a hilarious family sitcom that follows the lives of a diverse extended family. The show follows the same family every episode, and does not fail to make you laugh every single episode. Quick recap of characters: The head of the family, Jay, is remarried to a much younger woman, Gloria, a passionate  Colombian with whom he has an infant son, Joe Pritchett, and a son from Gloria's previous marriage, Manny. Jay's daughter Claire was a homemaker, but has returned to the business world. She now works in her father's closet business. She is married to Phil Dunphy, a realtor and self-professed "cool Dad". They have three children: Haley, a stereotypical ditzy teenage girl, Alex, a nerdy, smart middle child, and Luke, the off-beat only son. Jay's lawyer son Mitchell and his husband Cameron Tucker have an adopted Vietnamese, daughter, Lily Tucker-Pritchett. As...

Black Mirror

Image
We all know that technology is a big part of our present, and it's only gonna be an even bigger part in the future, for better or worse. Black Mirror tries to depict the dystopian view of it and yeah, it's kind of scary. I'll try not to spoil it but each episode touches a different topic, ranging from the future of VR(Virtual Reality), the future of blackmailing using your own computer(yeah, I'm sorry, don't know how to put it without spoiling the plot), AR(Augmented Reality) embedded into your freakin eyes and connected to your brain which allows you to browse through and watch your old memories, how you can stay in touch with dead person (this one was probably the creepiest) and my personal favourite that shows how much 'online' social media can influence our 'offline' lives where how many upvotes you have or your 'total score' decides whether you'll get to rent that house or not or if you can even board that flight. Oh and none of the ...
